CROWDE Expands Networking in Indonesia to Empower Local Farmers by Participating in BUMN Startup Day

By Afrianti Eka Pratiwi - October 3, 2022

During the COVID-19 epidemic in early 2020, Indonesian agriculture was one of the sectors that grew positively. However, many Indonesian farmers continue to lack sufficient livelihoods and access to technologies to improve the quality of their harvests, despite this progress.

Such a farmer's existence inspired CROWDE to act and directly contribute to the creation of an agricultural ecosystem through the BUMN Startup Day, which took place on September 26-28, 2022, at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD. CROWDE participated in this event to use technology to introduce the public to the bright opportunities in the Indonesian agricultural industry.

Joko Widodo, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, declared at the start of the BUMN Startup Day event, "The issue of the food crisis and food affairs in the future will be a big problem that must be solved by technology. It's a chance, it's a potential, it's an opportunity."

CROWDE intends to empower more farmers and reach other areas of Indonesia through the BUMN Startup Day event, as well as collaborate with BUMN, other start-ups, MSEs, and agricultural actors. Local farmers can thus receive assistance in producing high-quality, competitive food supplies.

CROWDE Expands Networking in Indonesia to Empower Local Farmers

CROWDE is an agri-tech firm focused on empowering Indonesian farmers through financial and technological access. With this closed-loop ecosystem, CROWDE has empowered over 38 thousand farmers in over 40 locations across Indonesia.

Through the BUMN Startup Day event, CROWDE could have direct discussions with the general public and students. Participants were eager to learn about the present situation of agriculture and its benefits to the Indonesian economy. Not only that, but many of those in attendance came to learn about agricultural business options and how to get started.

To be more efficient and generate the highest quality, Indonesia's agriculture industry needs to be supported by technology and qualified regeneration. By joining this BUMN StartUp Day event, CROWDE continues to work to build programs that may benefit Indonesian farmers in all aspects.
